Negatives:(1) Missing chapter: a spouse can make or break you. A highly intelligent woman with an education from a prestigious university in majors that matter BUT with a bad husband might still be able to be highly successful, but her road will be significantly more difficult, if not impossible. Yes, Dana says kind things about Peter, but she is really clueless about blessed she is that she struck gold with him. He had a far greater impact on her life than she realizes because if she realized it, she would plead with women to be extremely careful about whom they marry. She would warn them that whom they marry is the biggest career decision they will make.(2) Grammatical mistakes. She doesn't have to be perfect, but she can hire a copy editor who can find the comma splices and the use of "who" instead of "whom." After all, she is the one who says grammar matters.(3) She talked about dressing professionally and exercising, but she should be candid with young women and tell them that being overweight will affect their careers. That may be fat discrimination, but it will exist in this world for all eternity. Do you want a husband, or do you want that piece of cheesecake? Do you want to move up in your career, or do you want more queso dip?(4) Dana walked right up to the line about work/life balance but didn't come completely clean by saying that it does not exist for those on the management track or executives, if they are looking for the level of success Dana describes. Humor along the way.(3) Funny "jabs" at Greg Gutfeld. I've been a fan of Dana's for years. She speaks regularly about her pride in mentoring others--both men and women. This book is a natural extension. It is conversational and light, yet smart. For women and men, it's a must read!
